Executive Director, Teens Connect
Jeni Olsen is an inspiring thought leader, visionary, and changemaker. She is a passionate advocate for youth mental health, resiliency, and empowerment. As an executive director, speaker, and writer, Jeni is often sought out for her in-depth expertise around teens and her forward-thinking, collaborative approach to supporting them and their complex needs.
After two Napa teenagers died by suicide in 2016, Jeni felt compelled to close her 20-year-old graphic design business and turn her extensive volunteer work into a fulltime career in the nonprofit sector. She founded Teens Connect with a mission to equip middle and high schoolers with tools to manage their stress and learn resilience, provide safe places and people with whom to connect and give them a voice in their community. Teens Connect partners with school districts and mental health organizations in order to provide comprehensive support through programs centered around art, yoga and wellness, nature, peer support, and volunteer opportunities, as well as connection to mental health resources.
Known for her trademark combination of empathy, enthusiasm, and tenacity, Jeni is able to start conversations, bring people together, and find solutions that contribute to true systemic change. When she finds a little bit of time for herself, Jeni feeds her soul on a hiking or mountain biking trail, in her kayak, reading, or with her family.
