How Schools and Government Can Partner in Disaster Preparedness and Response

In recent years Napa County has experienced earthquakes, wildfire, and high profile suicide and multiple fatality/community shootings. Come learn the operational details of how Napa County worked together with schools to meet community needs in the critical events during the 2017 wildfire.  Vicariously experience the crisis through an impactful presentation which will include wildfire images and 911 calls. Develop an understanding of a detailed set of responses provided in partnership with the schools, community-based providers. Learn how to use the incident command structure (ICS) to pull down mutual assistance. The presentation will include a model triage tool and instructions on how to interface with the national guard, behavioral health resources and other county personnel in order to support and heal a community.
